Full moon tools, offerings and totems
Here are some of the items that I've used for my full moon ritual and the symbolism behind them.
Photos of loved ones
I have been dedicating a lot of my prayers to my loved ones lately. They're all in a state of change from moving to a new place to expecting another baby so it's important that I dedicated my prayers and intentions of love to them. If you'd like to reach out to loved ones who've passed you can also place their photos out on your altar. Keep a piece of selenite by the photo to help open up and channel your communication with them.
8 White Candles
I like to use eight candles because eight has always been my lucky number. Eight is also the number of infinity so when I light those candles my intentions, once set, do not die but go out there into the universe and come back to me over and over.
I shuffle my major arcana cards then lay three small pieces of clear quartz on top of the deck. I will let them sit in the moonlight overnight then pull the card to that will help guide all the affirmations and intentions I want to manifest over the next month.
I placed a cup of crystal-infused water on my altar as a drinkable offering to the universe. What better to drink than a nice cold glass of crystal infused water? Want to make your own? Read this blog post on how to make crystal infused water.
I placed a lemon on my altar as an edible offering to the universe. Funny enough the first time I used a lemon I had a list full of intentions of love and compassion for man kind and the universe. My boyfriend mentioned to me that his father's family also uses lemons as offerings so when I looked it up in our Cuban heritage we do use lemons as an offering to the patron saint of love - Oshun. So ha! This is a perfect example of my ancestors guiding me without my knowing to help me with my manifestations of love.
I use a large bowl to create a crystal grid using clear quartz for the perimeter and one selenite pyramid in the center to hold down a piece of paper on which I've written my prayers/intentions that I'd like to manifest.
In a separate bowl in the shape of a heart I place a few pieces of green calcite, peach selenite and clear quartz to help guide my prayers with love.
